The buttons on front are a bit small, but most users should have no problems. Simply press the four-way rocker to the right and you can easily jump by letter.

My favorite part about navigating, though, is the power-scroll sidebar that comes up on the right-hand side of the screen when you browse your media. I also like the contextual menus and ability to customize the main menu. The ZVW's interface is extremely easy to use and operates with adequate smoothness. You also can get an optional adapter for the player's CompactFlash slot from Creative if you want to use other memory-card formats. I like how syncing the ZVW doesn't require a proprietary cord, and the inclusion of an AC adapter is a nice bonus, even though the device can charge via USB. Inside the box, you will find an AC adapter, a soft carrying bag, a minijack-to-RCA A/V cable, USB cable, earbuds, and a standard mini-USB 2.0 cable. Unfortunately, there's no kickstand, so you have to hold the device while you're watching video. On the lower left side of the player's face, there's a built-in mono speaker that's surprisingly loud-especially compared with the original Zen Vision's weak speaker-despite sounding fairly tinny. The controls on the front are well laid out, though I'd prefer that volume buttons be not so far from these keys. On the top are a hold/power switch and dedicated volume buttons. The back of the device is actually an easily removable and rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Both models feature a 4.3-inch LCD screen that has a 16:9 aspect ratio (thus the widescreen designation) and a native resolution of 480 by 272 pixels. The 60GB model is even thicker (about 1 inch). The 30GB Zen Vision:W's silver and black plastic body is a bit chunky, measuring 0.9 by 5.4 by 2.9 inches and weighing 9.7 ounces. The one thing that could have put this product over the top, however, would have been an optional video-recording feature along the lines of the Archos 604 and its optional DVR docking station. Still, at $299.99 (direct) for the 30GB model (or $399.99 for the 60GB model), there's enough to like about the ZVW. Unfortunately, the player isn't particularly sleek, and its audio battery life is shorter than it should be for a device this size.
